AI - We will not need money and that's... OK

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take our jobs... and that's ok.

Scary to think, but this is the opposite side that is hitched to innovation. As we make advancements on any frontier, there will be greater: Convenience, Efficiency, & Affordability, but there will also always be the equally weighed out: Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt (FUD).

I like to take solace in the knowledge, that humans (and mother nature more generally), are apex innovators and are veryyyy resilient. Nothing has beaten us yet, and I am faithful that won't change any time soon. We will find an equilibrium and there will be even more innovation still.

Jobs Replacement
Just as formal monies and banks were once a foreign concept, so will they return to in-existence.

There will be a time, soon, where abundance will mean that want is not resolved with a credit card.
Automation will mean that many jobs of today, that do NOT need to be done by humans, will be handed off to software and robots;
and that's ... a good thing.

The perfect example of such roles are taxi drivers - in a similar way to how lift operators were made a redundancy with self operated elevators. These jobs are not the best use of the human life force and should definitely be done away with.

What is work?
Right,
Let's be honest for a second, the vast majority of us (myself included), only turn up to work for the promised money-pot when month's end comes. I know some find joy and meaning in their work, whilst others fill voids through hustle. But loosely speaking, we are in this for the proverbial carrot at the end of the stick.

So,
If the need for money goes away, then what need would there be for jobs anyways?

Jobs/vocations would then be based largely on what people had affinities and interests for, rather than what barely puts food on the table.

Lives would be built around real contribution to the world and not just busy work.

I'd argue that this is a great good and should be openly welcomed.

Work will always be a thing - see *Our Jobs are Safe* (the alternate/extended argument).

and thats... AI
